About us
La Trama Srl is a small company specializing in the use of Wholegarment technology, an advanced technique that allows for the production of seamless knitwear. Using advanced Japanese machinery, we create high-fashion clothing of exceptional quality. Our story began in 1986 in our parents’ garage, where we initially set up a small traditional knitting workshop, mainly weaving collars, pockets and cuffs to be applied to garments later on.
In 2000, we decided it was time for a change and, riding the wave of an imminent revolution, we dedicated ourselves full-time to producing seamless garments. Thanks to great success, in 2009 we opened the new headquarters where we still operate today, passionately pursuing our craft.
It is through our passion and dedication over the years that we have built a company known for creativity and the ability to innovate and inspire, guided by a quote from Arthur Bloch that we believe describes us well:

Welcome to our Traditional Knitting School, where we keep alive an art that risks disappearing. We offer courses that allow participants to learn handcrafting techniques using ancient traditional machinery.

The concept of sustainability and sustainable practices has been discussed since the 1970s, but only now has it emerged with greater force and importance. The younger generations, more than anyone else, value this idea of sustainable work to promote a more ethical and healthy future for generations to come. At Trama, we believe this is an invaluable value that must be nurtured not only by the younger generations but also by established companies rooted in eras when capitalism reigned supreme and a company’s importance was determined by profit.
It’s time to change, evolve, and what better industry to start with than fashion and textiles? Fashion is the most powerful art form: it encompasses movement, design, and architecture in a single product. It allows us to show the world who we are and who we want to be. We believe it’s important for our customers to understand the value we place on fashion and sustainability today, and we are committed to demonstrating this consistently in all our practices.
For this reason, we have decorated our showroom with recycled cardboard, which not only creates the effect of a weave but also allows us to use sustainable furnishings that do not harm the environment. Furthermore, over the years, we have invested in various machinery that enables us to control our consumption and manage our waste and resources. For example, our dry-cleaning machinery uses hydrocarbon instead of perchloroethylene for a gentler wash that consumes fewer resources and produces recyclable waste that is not harmful to the environment. Additionally, the water used for garment washing comes from a tank we built to collect water waste from our surroundings, adopting a cyclical approach to resource use.
